| Just read the TRANSPORT-WATCH article on speed cameras. I totally agree with it but comment, it's not just "anecdotal" evidence that contradicts the claims that the public generally support speed cameras. That claim was demolished by a survey by Brunel University see http://www.lscp.org.uk/documents.asp. Among the findings are that 18% wanted more cameras but 41% wanted less while 47% of drivers exceeded the 30 mph speed limit near camera sites. The latter suggests that the limits there are inappropriate let alone the punishment regime.
